One community. One year. One amazing experience.
You and your Land One class will attend the same sections of core courses in biology, economics, math and English, as well as an integrative seminar, totaling 16 credits. Learn while marvelling at how all of the knowledge you are being exposed to in biology, math, economics and English works together in the world that surrounds you; all while discussing and addressing issues related to land use, climate change, food security and sustainability, through the eyes and research of selected guest speakers, fun filled field trips and experiential activities perfectly integrated in your Land One seminar.
During your Land One experience, you will visit the UBC Farm to learn more about sustainable food systems. You will also be part of a 2-day field trip to UBC’s Malcolm Knapp Research Forest, where you’ll experience first-hand the coastal old growth rainforest and get a chance to bond with other students and instructors in the Land One program.
